Who This is For
This coaching works for people who want to train with a partner while progressing individually, have different strengths or injury histories that require separate programming, want accountability without generic group workouts, prefer shared sessions without identical programming, or want professional coaching instead of circuits or classes.
Program Overview
2-1 training allows two people to train together under one coach using a shared training structure with individualized adjustments. While clients often perform similar movement patterns, exercise variations, loading, volume and progression are tailored to each person’s mobility, strength and recovery.
What to Expect
Step 01: Free Strategy Call
The first step is a strategy call to determine whether 2-on-1 training works for both individuals. We'll review each person's training history, injury considerations, goals and schedule to ensure compatibility. This is not a sales call. It's a screening conversation to confirm whether training together makes sense.
Step 02: In-Person Movement Screen
Each person completes an in-person movement screen. This identifies individual restrictions, compensations and movement patterns that will influence exercise selection and progression for each client. Programs are built from these assessments, not assumptions about what should work.
Step 03: Ongoing Coaching & Progression
Training sessions follow a structured format so both clients can train efficiently together. Within that structure, loads, range of motion, and progression timelines differ based on individual movement quality, recovery and adaptation. This allows both clients to progress appropriately even when performing similar movements. Most 2-on-1 clients train 3-4 times per week with limited cases training 2x weekly depending on goals, recovery and shared schedules.

What Makes Us Different
Two people train together under one coach with programming individualized for each person based on how they move and what their body needs. You might do the same movement patterns, but loads, variations, and progressions differ depending on individual restrictions and capacity.
Real-time coaching addresses both clients during the session while cost gets shared without compromising quality or individualization. This works for partners with different bodies, different goals, and different training histories who want professional guidance without paying for two separate sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does 2-on-1 training work if we have different fitness levels?
Programming is individualized for each person despite different fitness levels. You might do the same movement patterns but with different loads or variations based on individual restrictions and current capacity. One person squats with a barbell while the other uses dumbbells based on their current strength. One person presses overhead while the other does an incline variation due to shoulder restrictions.
What if one of us can't make a session?
Sessions require both clients present since it's designed as group training. If one person needs to miss, the session typically reschedules to a time both can attend within your package timeframe. This ensures both clients receive the training they're paying for.
Can we train with different goals?
Yes, as long as goals are compatible enough to train in the same session structure. One person focused on building strength while another works on general fitness works well together. One person preparing for a fitness test while another rehabilitates a shoulder injury requires more individual consideration during consultation.
Do we need similar experience levels?
Similar experience levels aren't required for effective group training. A complete beginner can train successfully with someone more experienced if both are committed and understand programming will be individualized. Very large gaps in capacity may mean one person spends time waiting while the other completes sets, which can affect session efficiency.
What if we're a couple?
Many couples train together successfully in this small group training format. It provides shared activity, mutual accountability, and cost savings compared to separate 1-on-1 sessions. This works best when both partners are equally committed to consistent training and can support each other's individual progress.
Can we do this with friends or family?
Yes, this group training format works well for partners, friends, siblings, or parent-child pairs. The key is that both people will show up consistently and support each other's progress rather than creating competition or comparing results.
How often should we train together?
Most clients doing group training sessions train 3-4 times weekly together, which provides adequate stimulus with sufficient recovery. Some train more or less frequently based on shared schedule availability and individual recovery needs. Consistency matters more than frequency for long-term results.
What should we both bring?
Both clients should bring comfortable athletic clothing that allows full range of motion, athletic shoes appropriate for training, and water bottles. Everything else including equipment and programming materials is provided at the facility.
What's the cost compared to 1-on-1 training?
Cost per person is lower than 1-on-1 training since you're splitting the session investment between two people. Specific pricing for small group training is discussed during your consultation based on session frequency and package structure.
Can you work with injuries or medical conditions for both people?
Yes, extensive experience working with various conditions in group training settings. Programming adapts to each person's symptoms and limitations individually while training together in the same session. Consult with physicians for clients with complex medical needs.
What if our schedules change and we can't train together anymore?
Changes require 24-hour notice for rescheduling. Adequate notice allows rescheduling to a time both can attend within your package timeframe. If schedules permanently conflict, transitioning to separate 1-on-1 sessions or different training formats can be discussed.
Will we be doing the same workouts?
You’ll often perform similar movement patterns within the same session, but how those movements are loaded, progressed and modified differs based on each person’s needs. This keeps sessions efficient while ensuring both clients progress appropriately.
